Rublev withdraws…

Injury withdrawals have been a bit of a recurring theme with our picks so far this season. Another one struck this morning with the news that Andrey Rublev has pulled out of the ATP Barcelona tournament, citing a lower back injury.

Rublev was a 100/1 pick for us this week. According to the respective Tennis Rules sections on their websites, all the bookies I quoted in Sunday night’s email should void that Outright Winner bet – as Rublev withdrew before playing any part in the event.

Those recommended firms were NetBet, 10Bet, Bet365, William Hill, Skybet, Paddy Power and Betfair Sportsbook.

Other bookies aren’t so fair (Betway, BetVictor, Betfred – I’m looking at you).

Each bookie words their rules slightly differently, and as ever the advice is to check with the bookie you use.

Rublev withdrew well ahead of his 1st Round match, replaced in the Barcelona draw by a ‘Lucky Loser’ from qualifying, Ernesto Escobedo.

For more on bookie rules and the Outright Winner markets, take a look at the list of bookies on our site. The recommended ‘Outright’ list was compiled in February after I went through as many bookies’ rules pages as I could find.

Moving on…

We have Laura Siegemund playing for us in Stuttgart tonight. She took part in the sponsor’s ‘Tiebreak’ exhibition event last night, so all being well Siegemund is fit & ready for her opening match against Barbora Strycova – scheduled for 7pm+, and live on BT Sport.

I’ll be back tomorrow with a look at the latest matches & any other potential opportunities for us from this week’s four tournaments.

Enjoy the tennis,

Best wishes,
