Tennis Betting Advice - April 2023
A big price if you can get it...
Tuesday 18th April 2023
Good evening (or good morning)...
A key part of this service is spotting a big price - and sharing it with you. I've got one tonight.
Caroline Garcia is available at 50/1 with Betfred to win the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart.
Betfred have been that industry-best price since the start of the week. I've checked back a few times. It might hold, it might not.
The point is, I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't share my opinion on this price with you. Elsewhere, Boylesports are 25/1. Ladbrokes & Coral are 20/1. I wouldn't want to take lower than that. Other firms will be up in the morning, before play continues at 11am.
Garcia has yet to hit a ball here in Stuttgart this week. Seeded with a Bye to the 2nd round. And granted a fair draw that allowed her to get here and get ready to play, having competed for France in the Billie Jean King Cup international team event last weekend (where she won both of her matches, on hard courts).
Caro' proved herself as an all-court contender last season, winning WTA titles on all four surfaces (hard, indoor hard, grass, and clay). She's made the semis here in Stuttgart before. And with her first match this week not scheduled until Thursday, Garcia will have had time to get herself set for action, moving to clay.
Looking at this section of the draw, which also contains our 66/1 pick Anastasia Potapova. I can see the potential for world no.5 Garcia to go deep here. She's certainly more of a contender for the title than odds of 50/1 Each Way suggest. Having already reached two finals this season...
In conclusion: take the 50/1 if you can get it. Otherwise, take 20/1+ if you're happy to.

WTA Stuttgart - Porsche Tennis Grand Prix
Outright Winner - Each Way (1/2 odds 1-2 places):
Caroline Garcia @ 50/1 Betfred

Play starts in Stuttgart from 11am, at which point bookies will take down the Outright market for the day. Garcia plays on Thursday.
P.S
Our Barcelona match pick Ben Shelton lost to the short-price favourite Casper Ruud today (Tuesday). That one went as the odds suggested. But if you happened to watch that match, then you'll have seen why so many people are excited about young Ben's prospects. Myself included. We'll look out for him again soon.
