Ones to Watch in Dubai and Delray Beach...

Monday 16th February 2026

Good afternoon. I’ve been struck down by some kind of seasonal bug over the weekend, and am currently downing Lemsip and drinking ginger tea like a man possessed…

The show goes on though, with plenty of tennis for us to shoot at this week…

At ATP Delray Beach in the States, we want to be on SEBASTIAN KORDA at 14/1 – 12/1.

The tall American’s last ATP title came on outdoor hard courts at the ATP 500 event in Washington in 2024. We were on Seb as a winning 8/1 shot that week. This week’s 250-grade tournament in Florida is a similar set-up.

More recently, Korda reached the lower-tier San Diego Challenger final just a couple of weeks ago – also a North American outdoor hard-court event.

The 25-year-old is ranked no.50 in the world but injuries have repeatedly slowed him down. Korda has been as high as no.15 before… and may yet go on to achieve something close to what his Major-winning father (tennis) or sister (golf) have done.

I like him here at double figures. If Seb faces big name Casper Ruud in this side of the Delray Beach draw, maybe he can catch the Norwegian slightly out of sorts; Ruud has just become a father for the first time.

  • The Delray Beach Outright Winner market will go offline this afternoon/ early evening during Monday’s matches in the States, but Korda isn’t playing until Tuesday, 4pm+, UK time. So, back him tomorrow daytime if you miss the market today

We’ll definitely need to wait on prices for this week’s women’s tournament, where matches are on court as I write…

WTA Dubai is a high-value 1000-grade event. And with big-name entries, comes bigger prices for the outsiders…

Two young women I’ve been keen to back to win big things for a while now – CLARA TAUSON and LINDA NOSKOVA – are my picks. Both featured in this piece from me published at the end of last season, as well as numerous times in Ones to Watch over the last couple of years. They both have the power and talent to go well here…

Indeed, Tauson got to the final at this tournament last season. While Noskova, as I mentioned last week, was a 50/1 runner-up for us when reaching her own first WTA 1000 final in 2025 (Beijing, also on outdoor hard courts).

Both players are safely through to the 2nd round. When the Dubai Outright Winner market reappears online this evening, say around 7 – 8pm, depending on the length of today’s in-play matches. We want to back Tauson and Noskova, ideally and expectantly at odds in the region of 25/1 – 33/1 (or bigger, of course, if any firms oblige).

Clara is 23 years old and ranked no.15 in the world. She beat world no.1 Aryna Sabalenka at this venue 12 months ago, along with several other high-quality opponents.

Linda is 21, and ranked no.14. She beat current world no.5 Jessica Pegula here last year, enroute to the quarter finals… Tauson beat Noskova after that. This time, the two youngsters can’t meet unless it’s in the final…
