Our roller-coaster ride is well underway for 2024...

The new tennis season started last week with us hitting the bar in Brisbane. Teenage 33/1 pick Linda Noskova beaten by eventual champ Elena Rybakina in the semi finals. The semi final being the 'money match' - AKA the win that would've assured us an Each Way payout for reaching the final.

This week we got behind two long-shots in Adelaide. And there was pain and hope in equal measures last night...

Our 80/1 pick Magda Linette served for the match not once but twice in the 1st round against Ekaterina Alexandrova...and had FOUR match points to win it in the second-set tiebreak. It wasn't to be. You literally can't get much closer to a winning match payout, in any sport.

It was plain sailing for our other selection, though. With 100/1 shot Katerina Siniakova sweeping aside a lacklustre Karolina Pliskova, 6-2, 6-1. Landing the Match Winner odds at 11/10 (2.1). And triggering the bookies to slash her price for the trophy...

From standout prices of 100/1, 80/1, and 66/1 in yesterday's email (with plenty of 50/1 around, too). Siniakova's 1st-round victory has resulted in the bookmakers trimming her to 20/1 in general in the Outright Winner market - with Unibet, BetUK & BetMGM going a top-price 25/1 as I write.

Siniakova plays again in the early hours of Wednesday morning, around 2.30am, UK time. Priced at around Even Money (2.0) once again. Taking on Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. The head-to-head is 3-2 to the Russian. But our Czech outsider Siniakova has won their two most recent meetings, including one on hard courts last season.

The game is afoot. The big-odds adventure is underway.

And we have the Australian Open coming up this weekend, too. Watch this space...
