Tennis Betting Advice - July 2024
Ones to Watch in Washington at 8/1...
Wednesday 31st July 2024
Good morning. I’m back from my week away (and now we have a heat-wave)…
Jasmine Paolini didn’t do the business for us this time; losing from a winning position in her Olympic 3rd Round match yesterday – having served for the match at 5-4 in the deciding set. As noted after Wimbledon, we’ll keep the surging Italian in mind for the North American hard-court campaign throughout August.
There was better news if you followed my ‘Feel-Good Hit of the Summer’ selections recently. Harry Kane was a Dead Heat payout for Top Scorer at Euro 2024. While in the golf, 14/1 pick Xander Schauffele won The Open at Royal Troon…
Next week we’ll be concentrating on the tennis in Canada. It’s the National Bank Open – formerly known as the Rogers Cup. It’s a joint ATP & WTA ‘Masters’ 1000 event. The men are in Montreal; the women are in Toronto. See you Monday for that one.
This week, the North American hard-court action is in Washington, USA. We’re interested in the men’s tournament today, where play resumes from 4pm, UK time…

Overall, the 24-year-old world, no.22 has reached seven finals, with five of them coming on hard court surfaces. He’s been threatening to land a title this season, most recently finishing runner-up on grass in the Netherlands in June.
Shelton won on clay in Houston this spring, building on his maiden ATP Tour title in Tokyo (outdoor hard courts) at the end of last season. The 21-year-old, world no.14 suffered a 1st-round loss to a talented youngster at home in Atlanta last week – teenager Juncheng Shang went on to reach the semi finals. That Atlanta event came after Ben spent several weeks in Europe for the grass campaign. Reacclimatised back to the States now, Shelton can pick back up and put together a deep run here. He says he loves playing in the U.S…
