Guarantee a quarter finalist…

A quick email from me this morning with one to add to the book at WTA Eastbourne. Play starts 11am.

We’re on Aryna Sabalenka at 33/1 or 25/1 Each Way, and she’s through to the 3rd Round and faces Caroline Wozniacki today (3.30pm) for a place in the quarter finals.

Making her return to action after almost a month off the tour (and newly married), Wozniacki has hit the ground running here with consecutive 2-0 wins in her first two matches.

The Dane is the reigning champion here at Eastbourne and historically this has been by far her best grass court event. Caroline is a two-time Eastbourne winner, was also runner-up in 2017 and has made the semi finals a further three times.

In the top half of the draw new World No.1 Ashleigh Barty has pulled out ahead of Wimbledon, as anticipated. In the bottom half, odds of 12/1 Each Way for Wozniacki look good value today – twice the price of potential quarter final opponent Kiki Bertens (around 6/1), for example. And working through the draw and prices, odds of 6/1 for the place part of this bet – Wozniacki to reach the final – look a little too big, too.

Today’s match between Sabalenka and Wozniacki is a re-match of last year’s final. Backing Wozniacki today will guarantee us a player in the quarter finals.
