Tennis Betting Advice - June 2020

Two picks for today in the USA...

Friday 12th June 2020

In your Ones to Watch email today:

  • Mikael Torpegaard v JJ Wolf…
  • Jamie Loeb v Whitney Osuigwe…
  • Play starts 6pm…

The 2-1 trend continues…

Jessica Pegula is in our good books this week. We’ve looked at two of the American’s matches since the weekend, and on both occasions the 26-year-old has come through to land the 2-1 Set Betting score at decent odds.

Last night Pegula came from a set down to beat Shelby Rogers by that 2-1 score, with a 6-7, 6-3, 6-4 victory – at a best price 15/4 (4.75).

As Ones to Watch member DC puts it:

“Couldn’t have written the script any better! It was a good match too”

Two picks for today in the USA…

Today we’re sticking with the GST Tours Matchplay 120 series in the States. With a women’s match in Orlando, Florida and a men’s match in Columbus, Ohio, both catching the eye for different reasons…

Jamie Loeb v Whitney Osuigwe

We’ve been following the 2-1 Sets trend in this women’s series, and the rollercoaster matches have been flowing this week with five out of six encounters going the distance to three sets.

Two of those featured Jamie Loeb, and she looks an attractively-priced underdog against the 18-year-old Whitney Osuigwe today.

Since joining these events at the end of May, no fewer than five of Loeb’s seven matches have gone to a deciding set. The 25-year-old has been outperforming the odds in the last week, with a pair of outsider victories, both won by the 2-1 score.

The head-to-head here is 1-1, with Loeb winning their most recent meeting, two sets to one, in Honolulu last year. With odds of 19/4 (5.75) and 9/2 (5.50) available, Jamie to win 2-1 stands out as the price pick today.

Mikael Torpegaard v JJ Wolf

Another week and another encounter between Jeffrey John Wolf and Mikael Torpegaard. Last Friday we were on Wolf for the 2-0 win, and that’s the tactic again today.

These two have already met four times this year, including three times in this GST Tours series, and the 21-year-old Wolf has come out on top in straight sets each time.

Going back to the ATP Challenger event that he won here in Columbus in March, Ohio-born Wolf has won nine matches in a row. His 26-year-old Danish opponent Torpegaard has lost four out of five in the current GST Tours series.

Wolf is 1/3 (1.33) to win. You get a better price for the 2-0 score.

Note: This match was originally due to be Wolf v Tennys Sandgren – some bookies such as BetVictor are still showing that at the moment, but should update their lists during the day. Official line-up here.
