Keeping an eye on the grass...

In Ones to Watch today:
Recharging the batteries…
Just a quick update from me this week. With the French Open clay swept up for another year, I’m taking a few days to recharge the batteries. Ready to head to Wimbledon with a clear head.
A final word on the French Open: looking back at Sunday’s analysis, I talked myself out of a 5/1 winner on the Novak Djokovic 3-2 Set Betting score there. The world no.1 came from two sets down to deny 22-year-old Stefanos Tsitsipas a first Grand Slam title. For the Next Generation at the Majors, the wait goes on.
Final score: Djokovic 6-7, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-3.
Wimbledon on the horizon…
The grass-court season is well and truly underway. There are four tournaments taking place across the ATP & WTA tours this week. Including the annual pre-SW19 trip to the Queen’s Club in London.
The all-green tennis continues next week with four more tournaments. Check out the calendar here. For now, I’m watching and waiting. We may get involved with some betting action next week.
Two players in our 2021 book…
We’ve got one name in the Outright Winner book for Wimbledon already. Karolina Muchova was flagged-up at a top-price 50/1 back in February. Muchova is now a general 33/1 chance for the women’s title.
Another player in the early-bird Outright Winner book for this season – our January bet on Aryna Sabalenka for the women’s US Open at standout odds of 28/1, 25/1 & 22/1. The current world no.4, and with two WTA titles under her belt so far in 2021, Sabalenka is now 16/1 at best to make her first Grand Slam breakthrough in New York later this summer.
I’ll be back next week and throughout the month with grass-court info & analysis for you. After Wimbledon was cancelled last summer, we’ll be welcoming it back with open arms on 28th June.
Enjoy the tennis…
Best wishes,
Tom Wilson
