Tennis Betting Advice - June 2025

French Open update: In with a shout...

Monday 2nd June 2025

We’ve got four players through to the French Open quarter finals this week…

Out of a total of eight advised bets across the men’s and women’s events combined, we have to be happy with this little lot - moving into the business end of the competition over the next couple of days…

In the women’s tournament, we have Elina Svitolina (40/1 - 28/1) and Madison Keys (33/1 - 28/1). Svitolina takes on reigning Roland Garros champion Iga Swiatek. Keys plays fellow American, Coco Gauff.

While in the men’s, where we were particularly careful to only take credible outsiders at big prices to break past the impressive-looking favourites, world no.1 Jannik Sinner and defending champ Carlos Alcaraz. We’re on Tommy Paul and Lorenzo Musetti as a pair of 100/1 shots…

Musetti was the first name we got in the book for Paris, first advised as an early-bird, ante-post French Open 2025 selection last November. He went off at more like 25/1 - 20/1 on day one last week. Lorenzo is the bookies’ short favourite to beat Frances Tiafoe in the quarter finals. Tiafoe started the tournament at 100/1+.

Paul plays Alcaraz next, and the American will be the big underdog for that. Tommy is not without his chances, though. I wouldn’t have written him up in the first place if I didn’t think he could do it. He’s beaten Carlos twice before. The head-to-head is 4-2 to the young Spanish star, and 1-0 on clay.

Our Ones to Watch motto remains steadfast: in the tournament Outright Winner markets, we back appealing outsiders at attractive Each Way prices…

  • In the women’s French Open, we’ve backed 6 players. Representing 4.69% of the total field. In the men’s, we’ve chanced our outsider hand on just 2 names (1.6%). In both cases, we’ve now got 2 of the last 8 players left standing, taking our coverage up to a healthy 25%

The quarter finals are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday. We’re in with a shout. We’ve got skin in the game…

I’ll be back later in the week with any French Open updates for you. And with the calendar now flipped over into June, we’ll be starting our preparations for the grass court season, ahead of Wimbledon. More on that soon.
