Ones to Watch: teenage pick for Wimbledon...

Thursday 11th June 2026

The French Open produced yet another huge-price finalist in the women’s Majors. With qualifier Maja Chwalinska taking the runner-up trophy from starting odds of 500/1 (taking out our 40/1 shot Diana Shnaider in a close semi final)…

We’re making our next move in the ladies’ Grand Slam Outright Winner markets today…

It’s been a rainy opening week of the 2026 grass season – and not just in the UK. Events in Germany and the Netherlands have also been contending with intermittent breaks in play. The good news is that the early weather forecast for Wimbledon is looking warmer, brighter, and drier. Onwards and upwards…

I want us to add an exceptional young player to our SW19 early-bird book today…

IVA JOVIC was one of the leading names mentioned in this year’s Ones to Watch Report – view the 2026 Edition here.

The 18-year-old is currently no.19 in the world rankings, and through to the quarter finals on the grass at Queen’s Club this week. On Friday in London, Iva is scheduled to take on fellow American and last year’s Wimbledon women’s runner-up, Amanda Anisimova.

As with our recent get-the-big-price-in-the-book-while-we-can bet on Shnaider for Wimbledon, we should take Jovic at the standout odds today. Should she beat Anisimova tomorrow and progress to the WTA Queen’s semis, the SW19 storyline for Iva might become more popular…

And as I said in the pre-season report, we should take note of the American teenager’s fledgling grass-court form…

  • Jovic’s senior/ pro career grass match win-loss record now stands at: won 10, lost 1

That promising turf stat follows on from the teenager’s 82% winning strike-rate when she signed off on the junior circuit in 2024:

Iva Jovic's Juniors win-loss record

Jovic made a run to the semi finals at the Wimbledon Girls’ event in 2024. Last summer, we saw a former Girls’ champion, Iga Swiatek (2018), return to win the senior title at the All England Club. Not all junior champs go on to win the real thing – but the very, very best players are worth always looking out for. And Iva Jovic is a future Major winner in my eyes…

Iva Jovic – age 18 – has so far won one WTA singles title, achieved a ranking of no.16, and posted an impressive 70% overall match win rate (won 103, lost 43) on the senior tour:
