Rain stops play…

It ended up being a scrappy weekend on the tennis.

Rain stopped play at the UTR Pro Match Series in Florida, resulting in the final day’s play being called off.

And bad weather also prevented the new Generali Austria Pro Series from getting underway on schedule on Monday…

The elements were so strong in Austria that they actually had to partially rebuild part of the outside clay court after the downpours. They try again today, with the Day 2 match list in action from 11am.

  • Our ‘Day 1’ feature match, Jurgen Melzer v Lenny Hempel, will now take place on Wednesday. You can catch up on my thoughts & analysis here

Price watch…

Over in Atlanta, USA, the Exo-Tennis Series continues with the women returning for a second run of matches.

My plan is to watch and follow the form in the opening batch of round-robin matches today. There are a couple of new players in the line-up, so that’s something to consider.

Also, it will be interesting to see if the form lines from the first event hold up and repeat here…

For example, last time out Paige Hourigan beat Sachia Vickery as a 7/2 (4.50) outsider. Today the bookies have Hourigan a couple of points shorter in the match betting, at around 6/4 (2.50).

Last week we had a 21/20 (2.05) payout from Grace Min beating Vickery. Min is a slightly bigger price for the rematch today, closer to 5/4 (2.25). But that drift is down to the way both women ended their campaigns last time out – Min lost each of her last four matches in Atlanta, while Vickery won five out of six after a slow start.

Plenty to follow and plenty of tennis for us this week. So far, our ‘lockdown’ match picks have turned up a profit for a 22% ROI. I’ll be hunting again for us throughout this week, always with the scent of the best prices in our nostrils…

See you tomorrow.

Enjoy the tennis…

Best wishes,
