Tennis Betting Advice - October 2024

Targeting the autumn tennis calendar...

Thursday 10th October 2024

September’s Asian swing didn’t go our way. But there’s plenty more tennis to be played in China and Japan this month. As well as in Europe, and Saudi Arabia…

And in terms of our big-price Ones to Watch selections - the next exciting one is only ever just around the corner…

As I reported on 30th Sept, there’s certainly been no shortage of large-odds outcomes on the tours this year. And the season isn’t over yet…

This week’s men’s Masters 1000 event, the Rolex Shanghai Masters, has continued to throw up shocks and surprises. Albeit not the ones we anticipated…

Tomorrow’s ATP Shanghai quarter finals will feature veteran David Goffin, and teenager Jakub Mensik

The 33-year-old Goffin, currently ranked no.66 in the world, went off at 250/1 in the Outright Winner betting.

While 19-year-old Mensik - ranked no.66, and a fast-rising one-to-watch name - started Shanghai at 150/1.

Add in the fact that 23-year-old, world no.33 Tomas Machac is already through to the Shanghai semi finals - having knocked out world no.2 Carlos Alcaraz earlier today…

With Machac also going off here as a 150/1 rank outsider…

You can see why we consistently and persistently go after the big prices in the tournament markets…

I’ve just finished updating the Calendar page on your Ones to Watch website. I’m away from my desk next week. But upon my return, we’ll be targeting the rest of the October schedule - and beyond…

Tennis October Calendar

Targeting the autumn tennis calendar…

In particular, I’m looking forward to the Rolex Paris Masters - which starts on 28th October. The last ATP 1000-grade event of the season. And one with a rich history of producing big-price winners and finalists:

  • Last year, 40/1 Grigor Dimitrov was runner-up indoors in Paris…

  • In 2022, youngster Holger Rune was a 50/1 winner - and we got on him at 33/1 halfway through the tournament…

And before the pandemic:

  • 80/1 Denis Shapovalov was Paris Masters runner-up in 2019…

  • 40/1 Karen Khachanov won it in 2018…

  • As did 40/1 Jack Sock in 2017 - beating 300/1 Filip Krajinovic in the final…

  • 80/1 John Isner reached the final in 2016. And I could go on…

What’s more, after all the rain delays recently. We won’t have to worry much about the weather over the next couple of months. The entire remainder of the men’s schedule for 2024 will take place indoors - check out the full list of ATP tournaments here.

I’ll be back in your inbox with our next Ones to Watch picks on the week commencing 21st October. See you then…
