Tennis Betting Advice - October 2025
Ones to Watch in Basel at 25/1 and 22/1...
Monday 20th October 2025
Good morning. We’re staying indoors this week. With our main target being the Swiss Indoors event, ATP Basel…
Play starts from 1pm, UK time. Although our two selections don’t play today, the bookies’ Outright Winner markets will disappear during the day’s play - and reappear late tonight/ in the morning.
There’s a history of repeat winners at this indoor hard-court tournament. Not least the great Roger Federer, who won his home tournament 10 times, having once been a Basel ballboy with big dreams…
It’s not just Roger though. There’s a theme of big servers delivering here, time and again. The ‘Tower of Tandil’ AKA Juan Martin del Potro was a multiple finalist and trophy winner in Basel. See also fellow tall ball-thumpers and ‘ace machines’ such as Marin Cilic, and Hubert Hurkacz.
Felix Auger-Aliassime won this title back-to-back in 2022 and 2023, and also lifted a trophy indoors just yesterday (ATP Brussels). The Canadian is 10/1 with Bet365 today, and shorter everywhere else.
GIOVANNI MPETSHI PERRICARD won Basel last season. And after doing well for us last week indoors in Belgium - backing at 28/1 Each Way in Brussels and only edged out in the semi final, 7-6, 7-6, in a match that featured no breaks of serve. The 6’7” Frenchman can be backed at 22/1 to put together another strong run here, with his massive serve helping him along the way.
Mpetshi Perricard has ranking points to defend this week, and that does bring a bit of added pressure. And there’s also the fact that he’ll surely want to do well at the big ATP 1000 coming up in France at the end of the month, the Rolex Paris Masters. However, you can’t beat coming in with a bit of form, and to be honest I was expecting a shorter price than 20/1+ for the reigning champion.
I also like 20/1+ for ARTHUR RINDERKNECH. After a wild 500/1 run to the Shanghai Masters final the other week, where he ended up finishing runner-up to his (also 500/1) cousin, Valentin Vacherot. The quest for a first ATP title goes on for Arthur…
He’s been very solid on serve for some time now, and has a good indoor record. Indeed, four of Rinderknech’s last six lower-tier titles came at indoor hard-court events. I can see the Frenchman keeping up his consistency and confidence, and going well again here. He’s a former quarter-finalist in Basel.
What’s more, both our picks here are on the opposite side of the draw to top seed, Taylor Fritz. The potential for a run to the final makes our men decent Each Way prospects…
