A very promising start to 2018...
The new season started well for us last week, with two of the youngsters on our Ones to Watch in 2018 list reaching the final in their very first tournaments of 2018...
Katerina Siniakova – highlighted as One to Watch in the WTA Shenzhen event at 22/1 or 20/1 Each Way – made the final in China for the second year running.
The 21-year-old Czech finished runner-up, eventually beaten 2-1 in the final by World No.1 and pre-tournament favourite Simona Halep. No shame in that.
And it might have been a different story had Sunday’s final been played outdoors on the show court as intended. As it was, rain delays meant the match had to be played indoors in a muted setting with a modest crowd and little-to-no atmosphere.
Siniakova’s run to the final proved profitable, with an 11/1 or 10/1 payout if you backed her Each Way.
Elsewhere, on the Men’s tour one of our Ones to Watch in 2018, Andrey Rublev started his season well with a run to the ATP Doha final at odds of 16/1.

Price Watch – two 50/1 finalists last week...
Carrying on the theme from the last two seasons, last week’s events saw half of all finalists at pre-tournament odds in double figures. Including two 50/1 runners-up, along with 22/1 Siniakova and 16/1 Rublev.
