ATP Monte Carlo - two match picks for Wednesday...

I've thoroughly enjoyed the opening couple of days in Monte Carlo. The return to clay has produced some hard-fought, three-set matches. And a big upset, too, with world no.1 Novak Djokovic knocked out by Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, who was 5/1 on the day.

I've got two Match Winner selections for today. Play starts from 10am UK time, so I'm up late at night writing this one, so you can hopefully get the info and get your bets on in time on Wednesday morning/ daytime.

Our three ATP Monte Carlo Outright Winner picks all won their 1st round matches - Jannik Sinner (20/1+), Lorenzo Sonego (80/1+), and Lorenzo Musetti (66/1+).

The most impressive performance from our boys came from Lorenzo Sonego, who was really good in his straight-sets win, in windy conditions. I like him at 8/11 (1.73) to beat Laslo Djere in round two this morning (10am). The head-to-head is 3-1 to our man, with all three victories coming on clay.

The other price I like is for an underdog bet on Alex De Minaur to beat world no.8 Andrey Rublev. De Minaur won well in the 1st round (2-0). And the speedy young Australian also boasts a 2-0 head-to-head record against today's highly-ranked opponent.

Rublev reached the final here in Monte Carlo last year. That means he has a lot of rankings points to defend this week. So far in his career, he's not been the best in high-pressure situations. This will also be Andrey's first clay-court outing of the season. He may well be a little rusty.

De Minaur will chase everything, and I expect him to make this a very tricky afternoon for the Russian. This match is scheduled last on the second-biggest court here, Court Des Princes (2.30pm+). Odds of 5/2+ (3.5+) appeal for the upset.
