Tennis Betting Advice - December 2025
This tournament breeds champions...
Monday 1st December 2025
We’re only a month away from the start of the 2026 tennis season. But before the New Year’s fireworks, there’s one significant tournament left for us on the 2025 calendar…
The annual Next Gen ATP Finals starts in Jeddah on 17th December.
Consisting of the world’s top eight eligible men’s singles players aged 20 and under, the Next Gen Finals bills itself as a showcase for the stars of the future. And the track record backs that up…
Since its inception in 2017, this event has seen some notable names engraved on the trophy - young men who have since gone on to reach the very top of the sport…
The standout pair clearly being the current world’s top two, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner:
Alcaraz won the Next Gen Finals in 2021. The swashbucking Spaniard then won the US Open in 2022, becoming world no.1 in the process, at just 19 years of age. Carlos has since scooped up 5 more Grand Slam titles
Sinner won the Next Gen Finals in 2019, for his first ATP title win. The young Italian then went on to win a first Major at the Australian Open in 2024 - and has since added 3 more, and made it to world no.1
On a less spectacular note in terms of title wins - but nonetheless very interesting for our Ones to Watch big-odds hunting business - is this trend of Next Gen names going on to do very well at underdog prices at the next Major, which is the Australian Open…
Hyeon Chung won the inaugural Next Gen Finals in November 2017. In January 2018, he made a huge 500/1 outsider run to the Australian Open semi finals
Stefanos Tsitsipas was the 2018 Next Gen champion. He followed that up a couple of months later in Melbourne - reaching the Australian Open 2019 semi finals as a 50/1 shot, beating Roger Federer along the way
Last season’s Next Gen finalists Joao Fonseca (winner) and Learner Tien (runner-up) have been two of the breakthrough teenage stars of the men’s game in 2025. Both winning titles on the main ATP Tour this year, and both ending the campaign at career-high rankings inside the world’s Top 30. Both also made a splash at the first ‘Slam of the season:
Fonseca won his first 9 matches of 2025 at all levels, including a 4-match winning streak in Melbourne which saw the Brazilian come through qualifying and reach the Australian Open 2nd round in his Grand Slam main draw debut
Tien also made his mark Down Under in January. Announcing himself on the Major stage with a 6-match streak through qualifying and into the Australian Open 4th round (Last 16) - beating former no.1 and US Open champ Daniil Medvedev en-route
Keeping a keen eye on proceedings this month…
There’s plenty of evidence there to suggest that you & I should keep a keen eye on proceedings in Jeddah in a couple of weeks from now. And that’s precisely what we’ll be doing…
Monitoring the 2025 edition of the Next Gen ATP Finals, not only for standout bets during that week…
But also in terms of young men to follow at big prices in the upcoming 2026 season, and in particular - at the very first Grand Slam of the year, in Australia…
Stay tuned.
The Next Gen Finals take place from 17th - 21st December.
Enjoy the tennis…
Best wishes,
