Tournament update…
We’re on a decent run of getting players into quarter final spots and beyond.
This week there are five tournaments taking place across the ATP & WTA Tours, and we set off on Sunday evening with three Outright Winner selections, at odds of 33/1, 40/1 and 100/1.
In Marseille, 40/1 shot Damir Dzumhur crashed out in the very 1st Round.
In Dubai, 100/1 outsider Sofa Kenin had three Match Points (and a set and a break lead) for a quarter final place. But the 20-year-old American wasn’t able to get the job done and ending up paying the price with a painful three-set turnaround. After winning through the opening couple of rounds, Kenin’s price had dropped from 100/1 to 22/1.
Potapova in the quarter finals…
In Budapest, 33/1 pick Anastasia Potapova has been this week’s best performer for us…
The 17-year-old came through a topsy-turvy opener against Heather Watson, 2-1, but was much more impressive in her 2-0 win over Andrea Petkovic on Wednesday.
Potapova is through to the quarter finals, where she’s a 4/7 (1.57) favourite to beat Sorana Cirstea. And from a pre-tournament best price of 33/1 (34.00), our pick is now trading at just 11/2 (6.50).
Once again, we find ourselves in a promising position as the business end of the week approaches – and with a great price on our side.
Potapova v Cirstea is scheduled for around 3pm Friday, UK time. The match is live on BT Sport.
I’ll be back on Sunday evening – if not before – with a first look at next week’s tournaments. There are four events remaining on the February calendar, including both the men & women in action in Acapulco.
Enjoy the tennis…
Best wishes,
Tom Wilson
