Ones to Watch in Los Cabos at 20/1 and 150/1...

Tuesday 28th July 2026

A small piece of tennis news caught my eye overnight. In the betting world, where you and I sniff around the edges at big prices, a seemingly minor bit of info can turn out to have big consequences…

Former world no.3 Grigor Dimitrov has pulled out of this week’s ATP Los Cabos tournament. The veteran Bulgarian was due to play one-to-watch teenager, MOISE KOUAME. Instead, the 17-year-old French talent will take on a Lucky Loser from the qualifying rounds, current world no.391, Edward Winter.

Despite that big shift in the status of 1st-round opponent, most bookies haven’t flinched in their 150/1 quotes for world no.213 Kouame to spring a surprise and win what would be a first senior ATP Tour title this week…

Indeed, at those prices, reaching a first final alone would be worth 75/1 on the Each Way terms. We’ll take the youngster and see what he can do. Moise was certainly impressive at the French Open this spring, showing all the signs that he is ready for a tour breakout moment soon…

  • Kouame is widely available today at 100/1+ (see below for bookies). But Ladbrokes & Coral are much more wary of the French youngster, this morning going just 33/1

Elsewhere in this week’s Los Cabos field in Mexico, another highly promising youngster looking to join 2026’s ever-growing list of maiden trophy winners is the 20-year-old Spaniard, MARTIN LANDALUCE. He opened in the betting on Monday morning at around 14/1 – 16/1 but the market has now settled at 20/1 – and we’ll happily take that.

  • Landaluce is ranked no.63 in the world. He’s won a respectable 10 out of 15 matches on outdoor hard courts so far this season

Martin’s year-to-date formbook includes a noteworthy 6-match winning run at the big ATP Masters 1000 event in Miami in March, where he entered as a qualifier and finished up as a quarterfinalist…

This week’s smaller ATP 250-grade tournament fits the bill as an appealing/ realistic target for lesser-known or new names on the tour to land some silverware…

The Los Cabos winning roster is a varied one over the years. What stands out to me is that an all-rounder like Cameron Norrie has done well here in the past (winner, and runner-up – he’s now 9/1 from an opening 14/1 this week, having won in the 1st round last night). Along with players known for their prowess on slower surfaces, such as another previous Los Cabos champ, former French Open finalist, Stefanos Tsitsipas.

That suggests to me that it’s not all about hitting power here in these conditions, and that youngsters Kouame and Landaluce have a chance to get into their game – and then just maybe, play their way through the field. That said, these lads both stand well over six feet tall, and can compete physically, too – especially as they continue to develop.

These are two talented newcomers, set to make their debuts at this tournament, where play resumes overnight from 2am UK time. As always with Ones to Watch, we’re eyeing up the potential, at attractive odds…
