12/1 Kerber in the Eastbourne semi finals today…
Good morning. Just a quick update to let you know that this week’s Outright Winner pick, Angelique Kerber @ 12/1 Each Way, is having a good run at Eastbourne and is into the semi finals.
The German is now into 2/1 at best for the title.
World No.11 Kerber will play World No.2 Caroline Wozniacki at around 12 noon.
The career head-to-head is 8-6 to Kerber, with our player winning their only previous grass court meeting – which just so happened to be a semi final here at Eastbourne (2014).
As alluded to in our Sunday email, the likes of Petra Kvitova (withdrew), Karolina Pliskova (lost), Ashleigh Barty (lost) and Magdalena Rybarikova (retired) have all fallen by the wayside in Eastbourne – and packed their bags for Wimbledon.
The bookies make Wozniacki the slight favourite today at 4/5 (1.80). If you want to protect your stakes on the Kerber Each Way bet than you could back Wozniacki to beat her today. For me, I’m happy to stick with the original Kerber bet as it is on this occasion, with the prices, opponent and potential payout in mind.
P.S
I’ll be back bright & early at 8am on Monday with your Day One Bets of the Day email for Wimbledon, including our first picks for the Outright Winner market.
Enjoy the tennis,
Best wishes,
Tom Wilson
