French Open: Rain stops play…

French Open - Bets of the Day

In your Ones to Watch email today:

  • Quarter Finals today…
  • Semi Finals tomorrow…
  • Play starts 11am…

Good morning and welcome to Day 12 of your French Open 2019 daily service.

Quarter Finals today…

Just a quick email from me this morning, as the schedule is ‘as you were’ from yesterday.

None of the quarter final matches were played on Wednesday, with the day a washout due to heavy rain.

Next year Roland Garros will have a roof on Court Philippe-Chatrier, so in theory this tournament is the last time we’ll see a complete-washout day at a Grand Slam. Wimbledon, the US Open and Australian Open have all already got roofs on their main stadium courts.

The revised Day 12 quarter final schedule starts with the two women’s matches at 11am, followed by the men from 1pm onwards – weather permitting:

Simona Halep v Amanda Anisimova
Madison Keys v Ashleigh Barty

Novak Djokovic v Alexander Zverev
Dominic Thiem v Karen Khachanov

  • The main interest for us today is Karen Khachanov, our 200/1 or 100/1 outsider in the Men’s Outright Winner market

Semi Finals tomorrow…

We’ll pick our daily betting up again tomorrow with the semi finals getting underway. We’re in good shape with 40/1 Johanna Konta taking on our other 40/1 Each Way pick, Marketa Vondrousova.

I’m enjoying hearing about all of your own (big price) bets this tournament…

Long-time Ones to Watch member Rob emailed me last night to say he’s got the Halep/ Vondrousova and Halep/ Konta combinations in the Name the Finalists market – at odds of 40/1 and 90/1. You could be sitting on a massive payout there, Rob.

Thanks too to Frank, who wrote in to confirm he’s on both Konta and Vondrousova for the title – as well as managing to bag the top price of 200/1 on Khachanov. Good stuff.

I’ll be back tomorrow at 8am with your Bets of the Day for Friday.
