Tennis Betting Advice - March 2021
Dan Evans v Roger Federer today...
Wednesday 10th March 2021
In your Ones to Watch email today:
There are five tournaments this week, and we’ve got Ones to Watch players running in four of them…
After a great day of tennis yesterday, the busy match schedules continue today at WTA Dubai, WTA Zapopan, ATP Marseille, and ATP Doha.
An update on this week’s picks…
I said tight matches have been a theme for us lately. At ATP Santiago, we were on the end of two more long, and ultimately fruitless battles on the clay…
Take a look at these nail-biting score-lines:
50/1 pick Daniel Altmaier lost 7-6, 3-6, 7-5 v Daniel Elahi Galan Riveros.
And 33/1 Gianluca Mager had two match points to win in straight sets v Federico Coria. But eventually lost 4-6, 7-6, 7-6 in the three-hour+ heartbreaker.
In Dubai, we had a three-setter go our way on Tuesday evening. Ons Jabeur beat Elena Rybakina, 7-6, 4-6, 6-2. Our 28/1 selection, Jabeur plays again today (4.30pm+, Amazon Prime Video).
As anticipated, big name Petra Kvitova didn’t have the fitness to last back-to-back tournaments in the Middle East. After winning Doha last week, Kvitova retired when losing in yesterday’s match v Jil Belen Teichmann, who goes on to face Jabeur today.
The women’s events continue to be wide open. We’re only at Wednesday and already this week, four of the top five seeds have been knocked out in Dubai, including the top two…
Top seed Elina Svitolina crashed out in three sets against Svetlana Kuznetsova yesterday. And this morning, No.2 seed Karolina Pliskova was wiped out by our 18/1 tournament pick, Jessica Pegula…
Since we backed her on Monday night, Pegula has racked up two more very impressive quick-fire victories. Thrashing Kristina Mladenovic, 6-1, 6-2. And doing the same v Pliskova, 6-0, 6-2. Jessica is one of the form women on the tour right now.
Dan Evans v Roger Federer today…
Overall, we have six players standing in the Outright Winner markets this week. Pegula is through to the Dubai quarter finals after winning this morning. The other five all play today:
Plenty of tennis to look forward to there. Not least Evans v Federer, which should be a good watch…
Dan will see this as his best ever chance to beat Roger. The Swiss legend is making his return to the tour after injury, playing for the first time since the pandemic began. Expect plenty of beautiful backhands.
I’ll be back later in the week with another update for you.
Enjoy the tennis…
Best wishes,
Tom Wilson
