Miami Open: Women's picks at 50/1, 66/1, and 100/1...
Tuesday 17th March 2026
The second half of the Sunshine Double starts this afternoon, with the first wave of matches in the 1st round of the women’s Miami Open…
It’s notoriously hard to follow-up an Indian Wells title charge with the Miami Open; a gruelling March double, no matter how highly-ranked you are…
That puts a question mark over last weekend’s beaten finalist Elena Rybakina in particular (losing from match point up in brutal heat is tough to shake straight off). She’s 6/1 second-favourite.
While reigning Miami champion and new Indian Wells trophy-holder Aryna Sabalenka is the 5/2 (3.5) favourite in general, with Ladbrokes & Coral offering an industry-best 11/4 (3.75).
On to our outsider quest…
We backed a total of five ladies at WTA Indian Wells last time out. They remain worthy of interest just two weeks later here in Florida:
Qinwen Zheng
Iva Jovic
Sorana Cirstea
Belinda Bencic
Madison Keys
For me, with the Miami draw and latest form to hand (having followed those players closely at Indian Wells), the one I’m happy to go in with again from day one here is teenager, IVA JOVIC.
The 18-year-old American is a big part of this year’s Ones to Watch Report for us. And with the potential upward trajectory outweighing what’s in the fledgling formbook, Iva is a highly-talented young player who is, crucially, available at big prices. We can get 50/1 in general again, with BetMGM & co currently going 120/1 as I write.
Two players we’ve also been tracking for a while now are LINDA NOSKOVA and CLARA TAUSON. Including in this end-of-season write-up from me last November. With impressive serving stats and ace counts standing out - as well as a propensity to perform on the big stage…
For a while there I thought I was going to regret not putting up Noskova at 50/1 - 40/1 in Indian Wells. The big-hitting Czech youngster made a strong run to the semi finals. We can get the same odds again here. The 21-year-old has a decent-looking draw, and that makes me think Linda can carry on the momentum here.
Tauson had a tough break in California the other day, running into qualifier Talia Gibson who charged into breakout form with six straight match wins. We’ve backed 23-year-old Clara (and Noskova) for Miami at big odds before, and the Dane also catches the eye this time at 66/1 in general. With, once again, BetMGM & co (see below) going triple figures, at 100/1.

We’ll take a first look at the men’s Miami Open market tomorrow. And with this being a near two-week tournament, we have plenty of time to make further moves in both draws.
