They keep on coming...

The tiebreaks keep on coming…
The fast indoor conditions continue to play into the hands of the big servers and power-hitters this week. Especially in Basel, where four of the six matches produced tiebreak sets on Thursday…
With a total of seven 7-6 score-lines in Switzerland yesterday, from 14 sets of tennis.
That comes after five out of seven matches went that way in Basel on Tuesday. And our Wednesday picks identified three out of four successful Tiebreak selections at the Swiss indoors event.
The ball-thumping is set to continue in Basel this afternoon. And as well as the narrow 7-6 scores, the quarter final opportunities keep coming for us, too…
This week’s Ones to Watch last man standing is our 25/1 shot, Tallon Griekspoor. He won as a 2/1 match underdog against Alex De Minaur yesterday. The Dutchman is a 2/1 outsider again today, taking on tournament favourite Hubert Hurkacz.
Griekspoor and Hurkacz have met twice before, with both meetings coming this season. The head-to-head stands level at 1-1. One on grass (Griekspoor), and one on clay (Hurkacz). Both matches went all the way to a deciding set. And both featured one or more Tiebreak sets…
The bookies make it odds-on for another 7-6 score today. With ‘Over 0.5 Tiebreaks’ priced at 8/15 (1.53) with Bet365 – who also go 5/1 for the match to ‘Go the Distance’ (be decided by a final-set tiebreak). William Hill are 1/2 (1.5) for a Tiebreak in the Match.
It could be another tight one…
Let’s see how our Ones to Watch underdog fares this afternoon. Griekspoor v Hurkacz is scheduled as the first quarter final at ATP Basel today, due on court from 1pm UK time.
Amazon Prime Video have live coverage. And live streaming is available with certain bookmakers, including Bet365.
I’ll be back next week with two big tournaments to look forward to…
The WTA Finals in Cancun…
And the ATP 1000 Rolex Paris Masters – scene of our 33/1 winner on young Holger Rune last year…
Enjoy the tennis…
