Forget Star Wars - it’s time to get to work...

Tuesday 19th December 2017

In your Ones to Watch email today:

  • It’s time to get to work...
  • The Calendar is up...
  • Coming soon – my brand NEW service for 2018...

It’s time to get to work...

Once you’ve got the tennis bug, it grabs you hard. I’m missing the tennis.

It’s only a short off-season. But already I can’t wait for 2018...

Granted, the players don’t get much time off. But for me, I’ve seen quite enough light-hearted tennis ‘news’ in recent days:

Photos of players posing with Star Wars characters... a light-saber beam Photoshopped onto Rafael Nadal’s racquet...

World No.1 Simona Halep singing in a band, with her coach on keyboards... Wimbledon champion Garbine Muguruza surfing in the USA (careful now)...

All good fun, I’m sure. But business time is here...

Behind all the Twitter posts and Instagram images, the players WILL be hard at work, training over the Christmas ‘holidays’ ready for the start of play on New Year’s Day.

In fact, the first serve of the 2018 tennis season will actually be hit on New Year’s Eve, Sunday 31st December 2017, in Brisbane.

There’s really not long to wait at all.

And we’re starting to get a few glimpses from behind the scenes...

Petra Kvitova and Maria Sharapova – two players who will be looking to get back in the Grand Slam winning habit next season, after a 2017 hampered for various reasons – both seem keen to show they are fit and raring to go. Both recently posted photos of themselves on court and in action poses.

That’s what we want to see. Forget Star Wars, surfboards and keyboards. WE WANT TENNIS.

Talking of getting to work, I’m busy preparing for the new season, too. There is no rest for the wicked. And there is a plan afoot...

The calendar is up...

First of all, I’ve just updated the January 2018 tournament calendar on our website. There are 10 tournaments in the build up to the big one, the first Grand Slam of the year – the Australian Open in Melbourne. Take a look here.

Those events will give us a nice taste of early-season form to set us on our way for the Australian Open, which is the traditional big gong that announces the new season to the world at large.

After 59% of last year’s tournaments saw finalists at double-figure prices – and after our Ones to Watch season ended with three straight tournament winners at odds of 25/17/1 and 11/1 – we’ll be chomping at the bit from day one.

And when the Aussie Open comes along, just two weeks into the new season – I’ll be taking things up a level...

Coming soon – my brand NEW service for 2018...

There’s a big announcement coming from me very soon. But this is what you need to know right now:

To all of you that have been emailing me about this... the answer is YES. I will be providing a new, week by week service in 2018. It’s a big step forward, and I’m extremely excited about what we have in store...

As a Ones to Watch reader, you’ll hear about my new weekly tennis service before anyone else.

More details will be available very soon. I’ll let you know.

P.S
You can whet your appetite for the new season today with your FREE Ones to Watch in 2018 report. Last year our list of youngsters included 100/1 Jelena Ostapenko, who went on to win the French Open. It goes without saying that you shouldn’t miss the 10 players on our new 2018 list. If you haven’t done so already, get your free report here.

Best wishes,

Tom Wilson
