Thursday 8th January 2026
The new tennis season is underway, and three of our Ones to Watch in 2026 youngsters have hit the ground running…
Your exclusive, free, 2026 report - view it here - contains nine new names on our list.
Three players in particular have made a strong start this week, in their very first tournaments of the year…
In the men’s, big server Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard is through to the ATP Brisbane quarter finals.
And seeing as the 22-year-old Frenchman is in the opposite side on the Brisbane draw to the favourite, Daniil Medvedev. Our man Mpetshi Perricard looks to have a promising opportunity to get to the final from here…
The 6’7” ball-striker started the week at 22/1 in the Outright Winner market. Having won two matches to get to the quarters, Giovanni is now a best-price 7/1 with BetVictor and William Hill.
In the women’s, two of our young prospects are also through to the quarter finals, and on a potential course to meet in the final in New Zealand…
Having been drawn in opposite sides of the draw at WTA Auckland, 18-year-old Iva Jovic and 20-year-old Alexandra Eala are looking good, having both posted straight-sets wins in the 2nd round.
Jovic went off at 9/1 for the Auckland title this week; she’s now 11/2 with Bet365 and William Hill. While Eala started as a 14/1 shot, and is now trading at 5/1 with BetMGM, and 4/1 in general.
Australian Open coverage starts next week…
There are four more tournaments taking place in Australia and New Zealand next week.
And then we’re straight into the first Grand Slam of 2026, the Australian Open…
