Notes from the Tour: Taking aim in Transylvania...

There are four tournaments taking place next week - and the history books say we should be on the hunt for big-price winners at the Transylvania Open…

The silverware is still to be decided at the Australian Open this weekend. But for the vast majority of players on the ATP & WTA Tours, the next few days will see them travelling across the globe, and getting back on the weekly circuit…

Next week’s schedule features four events:

I keep track of all the tournament results, every season. And from next week’s list, the women’s event taking place in Romania looks the standout target for us. In terms of being ripe for upsets/ lesser-known names to come through… and producing a big-odds finalist or two…

• 5 of the last 8 WTA Cluj-Napoca finalists started the tournament at odds of 25/1 or greater in the Outright Winner market

With a 25/1+ finalist at this event in each of the last four seasons, we should look to target the Transylvania Open 2026 draw next week, in search of appealing outsiders at attractive Each Way prices…
