Notes from the Tour: 80/1 Wimbledon double...

Friday 3rd July 2026

Wimbledon is in full swing; the sun is shining – and I’ve got a big SW19 double for you today…

Here at Ones to Watch we specialise in finding big odds opportunities. Usually that means we’re backing teenagers and upcoming players at fancy prices, before they become household names. But sometimes that quest takes us to the established stars – as is the case today…

Wimbledon double at 80/1:

Making the case for two Top 3 players…

Reigning Wimbledon champion Iga Swiatek hasn’t had it all her own way at the ‘Slams for a while now. The 25-year-old former world no.1 has gone through a spell of throwing in more bad days than in her peak period of domination which started when she landed the French Open for us at massive odds back in 2020.

The bookies aren’t fully convinced. Pitching Iga at twice the price and more of world no.1 Aryna Sabalenka (3/1), despite the fact the Belarusian is yet to reach a Wimbledon final, and none of her 24 career titles have come on grass.

I sense a bit of value in the current 8/1 and 7/1 price for the 3rd seed. Swiatek is yet to win a tournament this season… however, this a world-class, multiple Major winner we’re talking about. The Pole arrived at SW19 last summer without a 2025 trophy to her name – and went on to light up her year in magnificent fashion, taking the most prestigious title of them all, on the green grass of the All England Club…

  • Swiatek won the Wimbledon Girls’ title as a junior in 2018. She returned to win the real thing last year

We like our Grand Slam summers to centre on big-odds action. And in that department, I like Swiatek for the Women’s title alongside Alexander Zverev for the Men’s, to form a high-quality, if somewhat contrary, double:

  • Having won the French Open last month, 29-year-old world no.3 Zverev has now released the pressure valve – finally winning a Major, having been touted for one and come so close so many times in his impressive career. And with former two-time Wimbledon champ Carlos Alcaraz out injured here, just as he was in Paris last time out – the German may be primed to take his chance once again…

Odds of 9/1 or 8/1 roll up very nicely in an Each Way double consisting of the Women’s 3rd seed and Men’s 2nd seed…

Swiatek and Zverev are both through to the 3rd round, with their next matches scheduled for Saturday. The finals are next weekend.

Wimbledon – Men’s and Women’s

Outright Winner – Each Way (Men’s 1/3 odds 1-2 places, Women’s 1/2 odds 1-2)

  • DOUBLE. Iga Swiatek and Alexander Zverev @ 80/1 Boylesports, 75/1 BetVictor, 63/1 William Hill, Betfred, Ladbrokes, Coral, 62/1 Bet365
