Notes from the Tour: PGA Championship picks...
Thursday 14th May 2026
We’re looking to continue our successful spring detour by targeting the PGA Championship today…
After 25/1 shot Justin Rose gave us an Each Way payout at The Masters at Augusta last month (Tied 3rd)...
And Wu Yize provided us with a 16/1 winner at the Snooker World Championship at the Crucible over the early May Bank Holiday weekend…
We’re going back to the bag today, with the second Major of the year about to tee-off at the Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania, USA - the PGA Championship…
Repeat winners are a theme of this tournament, which moves venues from year to year. American players have won the last 10 PGA Championship titles - and I’m not going to veer far from US names here:
- JUSTIN THOMAS has won 2 Major trophies, and they’ve both come at this tournament. The current world no.16 has made the cut in 6 out of 7 events this season, and it’s of note to me that Justin has improved on his finishing position in each of his last 3 outings on the tour (T77, T23, 13…). He’s played Aronimink once before (BMW Championship 2018), with a respectable T12 finish. Thomas is 45/1 with Bet365 and Betfred, with Each Way terms of 1/5 odds for 8 places
- BROOKS KOEPKA is a man we’ve backed for big trophies before. He’s won 5 Majors in an amazing career to date, with 3 of those coming at the PGA Championship. The enigmatic Brooks remains as erratic and dangerous as ever: he’s missed the cut in 2 of his last 4 outings back on the PGA Tour, but has also posted solid Top 20 finishes in 5 of his last 7 events. He was also Top 20 at Aronimink at the BMW back in 2018. Koepka knows how to raise his game and rise to the occasion at the Majors - he’s 35/1 with Bet365 and Betfred, with Each Way terms of 1/5 odds for 8 places
And last but not least, an in-form Englishman to follow…
- MATT FITZPATRICK won the US Open in summer 2022, after posting a T5 finish at the PGA Championship that May. Matt called that his golden era, but his 2026 form is taking him to great heights: no.4 in the world, with 3 tournament wins already this season. Fitzpatrick has made 11 out of 11 cuts this year, with 5 x Top 10 finishes. Remarkable consistency and a high level of performance. After a Top 10 result at the PGA Champ last year, he’s a contender again here, at 22/1 with Bet365 and Betfred with Each Way terms of 1/5 odds for 8 places (watch out for Matt’s younger brother this weekend, too - Alex Fitzpatrick is a 100/1 shot, and making his tournament debut)
I’ve quoted the Bet365 and Betfred prices and place terms there. Shop around for your preferred combination of odds and enhanced Each Way places.
The action tees off at 11.45am UK time, with live coverage on Sky Sports throughout the weekend - and concludes on Sunday night…
P.S
The next tennis Major is coming up very soon for us. Don’t miss the French Open at Roland Garros this month. Becoming a Ones to Watch member is the only way to get all my advice…
Enjoy the tennis (and the golf)...
Best wishes,
