Tennis Betting Advice - August 2025

WTA Cincinnati: Play the prices at 14/1 and 100/1...

Wednesday 13th August 2025

After last week’s dream run and 28/1 winner from our teenage pick Victoria Mboko in Montreal, the betting game has nudged us back down to earth again in Cincinnati…

From last week’s day-one picks in Ohio: 100/1 Arthur Fils pulled out without hitting a ball (bet void), 40/1 Linda Noskova suffered a bruising straight-sets defeat to 17-year-old Iva Jovic, 200/1 McCartney Kessler lost from two match-points up yesterday… and 300/1 Dayana Yastremska also pulled out, after winning her opening match, and before she was due to play Coco Gauff (bet lost).

With today’s play due to resume in Cincinnati from 4pm, UK time - after rain stopped play on Tuesday - we can make two final moves in the WTA 1000 event today…

I’m away from my desk this week and on the go with my laptop, so I’ll get straight to the point:

MADISON KEYS started the tournament at 14/1, and the American is still that price today, despite winning through the opening two rounds. Maddie saved match points in the first, then blazed through the second. Big-name favourites including world no.1 Aryna Sabalenka, and next opponent Elena Rybakina, are still very much alive & kicking in this side of the WTA Cincinnati draw. Along with recent Wimbledon winner, Iga Swiatek…

Keys beat all three of those star names en-route to winning the Australian Open for us at giant odds back in January. The 30-year-old world no.6 has won this tournament before (2019), and also reached the semi finals in 2022. As the ‘outsider’ from the big names in this half of the draw, Maddie still being available at her day-one Cincinnati price of 14/1 appeals to me here.

In the bottom half of the draw, things look much more wide open…

Two qualifiers will face off tomorrow for a place in the quarter finals: 20-year-old world no.125 Ella Seidel and 25-year-old world no.103 VARVARA GRACHEVA are available today at top prices of 350/1 (Bet365) for the former, and 100/1 (see below) for the latter…

With Seidel having pulled out of her last tournament, and then having played four three-set matches in a row here in Cincy, Gracheva may have the edge here. The Russian-born right-hander represents France these days, and has shown glimpses of hitting form this spring and summer, with a semi-final run on clay in France in May, and then another semi - this time on grass - at Eastbourne in June.

Some of the other ladies in this section of the draw will have a squeezed schedule to contend with this week after rain stopped play yesterday (matches rearranged for today). That might help Gracheva, too, seeing as she is already through to the Last 16. The big prices certainly catch the eye.
