Tennis Betting Advice - November 2021
Monday 29th November 2021
Good afternoon. The 2021 tennis season is all but done. The Davis Cup gets settled this week. I’ve been following proceedings in this men’s international team tournament. But to be honest, I haven’t really seen any prices that I like.
The Russian Tennis Federation (RTF) are the odds-on favourites to take the trophy. If the next couple of days go as the bookmakers are expecting, then we could see the Russian men taking on Great Britain in the semis…
Team GB are around 8/1. There’s no Andy Murray this year, but Cameron Norrie and Dan Evans are leading the line in the Singles. The Great Britain v Germany quarter final takes place on Tuesday.
I’ve already started to look ahead to the 2022 season. As the name suggests, Ones to Watch is all about looking to find the players to follow; new names that can go well and win big at attractive odds…
Around New Year, I’ll be publishing my annual Ones to Watch report, listing the young & improving players to watch in 2022 and beyond.
The ATP & WTA Tours have started to release calendar info for next year. The coronavirus pandemic still hangs over everything, of course. But as it stands, the season is due to start with the first weekly tournaments from 3rd January. With the Australian Open coming on 17th Jan.
That gives me five weeks between now and the start of January to get my pre-season work done. My spreadsheets and notes get an annual going-over at this time of year. I aim to get it all done before Christmas, then get set for the first ball to be hit just after New Year’s Day…
My to-do list this December includes rounding up all the tournament-winner and runner-up prices from 2021. Building on five years & more of evidence that I’ve gathered, telling us that the big, Each Way odds are the way to go in both the weekly ATP & WTA events, and at the four Grand Slams. New evidence to follow!
I’ll also be compiling that new, OTW in 2022 list for you. I’ve got some exciting prospects in mind already. And we may also add to our early-bird portfolio, and get one or two big prices in the book for next year’s Majors. So far, we have 100/1 Clara Tauson for the Australian Open 2022 women’s, and 25/1 Jannik Sinner for the men’s.
Your emails from me will go a bit quiet for a couple of weeks now. But rest assured, behind the scenes, I’m getting myself ready to come out all guns blazing when the new season starts in the first week of January.
Stay warm, take care, and I’ll speak to you again soon.
Best wishes,
Tom Wilson
