Each Way Terms and Semi Finals...

Monday 24th November 2025

The 2026 tennis season starts in the first week of January. That will come round fast enough…

During this brief period of off-season downtime, one of my annual tasks is to look back over the year that was - and see what the stats and spreadsheets tell us…

Here at Ones to Watch, our modus operandi is as follows:

  • In the tournament Outright Winner markets, we back appealing outsiders at attractive Each Way prices

‘Each Way’ is a key phrase there. While the full, trophy-winner odds give us the biggest glory days, no doubt. Standard 1/2 odds place terms for reaching the final mean that a runner-up can also prove very profitable…

A losing 50/1 finalist is worth a 25/1 payout, for example - as we found with Linda Noskova at WTA Beijing last month…

A 100/1 Each Way shot beaten in the final pays 50/1 - and so on…

  • Those place terms make the Semi Final a big match. The ‘money match’, if you like it. Win the semi final, and you’re guaranteed the Each Way payout - at the very least…

We’ve had a good season in 2025. Here are our six finalists from this year:

With that semi final ‘money match’ point in mind…

Our close-but-no-cigarnear-misswhat-could-have-been list for 2025 includes:

April - ATP Monte Carlo - Alejandro Davidovich Fokina @ 33/1 - SEMI FINAL

May - ATP Rome - Lorenzo Musetti @ 33/1 - SEMI FINAL

May - French Open men’s - Lorenzo Musetti @ 100/1 - SEMI FINAL

July - Wimbledon women’s - Belinda Bencic @ 100/1 - SEMI FINAL

October - ATP Brussels - Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard @ 28/1 - SEMI FINAL

November - ATP Metz - Lorenzo Sonego @ 16/1 - SEMI FINAL

Aside from our six finalists from 2025, that extra half-dozen of semi-finalists were all ‘just one’ match win away from bagging us an Each Way payout at half the odds - and maybe even more…

It’s a tantalising business, this. But big odds are what it’s all about for us…

On that note:

Last week, we got our first 100/1 pick for next season in the book (read more here)...

  • As I write, Diana Shnaider can still be backed at 100/1 Each Way for the women’s Australian Open 2026 with BetVictor. As well as with some lesser-known names online: BetMGM & VirginBet, PricedUp & BresBet

I’ll be back on Thursday with this week’s Notes from the Tour analysis.

Enjoy the tennis…

Best wishes,

Tom Wilson
