Notes from the Tour: Get ready for March madness...

Thursday 26th February 2026

One of the biggest tournaments of the year starts next week. And it’s got a history of huge prices…

In my eyes, there are few more exciting patches on the tennis calendar than March - just as springtime starts to creep into view…

With the annual ‘Sunshine Double’ in the USA - two joint ATP & WTA, 1000-grade Masters events… nicknamed the 5th Majors… with only the four Grand Slams holding greater status…

  • Indian Wells starts in California next Wednesday, 4th March

  • Followed by the Miami Open in Florida, from 17th March

We also call the Sunshine Double, ‘March Madness’... as there’s a great history of shocks, surprises, and big-odds payouts here…

Last year alone, the month of March in the States produced some whoppers at these headline events…

With Jack Draper the 33/1 champion at Indian Wells, and Jakub Mensik a ginormous 250/1 winner in Miami. Along with Holger Rune as a 50/1 runner-up at Indian Wells, and Jessica Pegula a 25/1 runner-up in Miami…

That’s four of the eight finalists across Indian Wells & Miami 2025 at odds of 25/1 - 250/1

Last season’s March madness follows on from many similar big-odds results in recent years…

And here at Ones to Watch, we’ve been on a fair few of them…

How to profit from the Sunshine Double…

Like the sound of those big prices?

Well, I’ve already started shortlisting players for Indian Wells next week…

The draws will be made on Monday. After which, I’ll be referring to my already-drafted player shortlist - and looking to map out potential routes to the final, upsets, banana skins, and youngsters and outsiders to follow… with attractive Each Way prices the goal…

Play begins in the 1st round on Wednesday evening, live on Sky Sports Tennis, and I’ll be sending out my first tournament selections before a ball is hit…
