Once again, these three Ones to Watch names are going well at an ATP Masters 1000 event…
This week’s Madrid Open is the fourth ATP Masters 1000 event of the year. Youngsters springing big-odds upsets has been the theme in these prestigious tournaments so far in 2025…
In March, Jack Draper won Indian Wells at odds of 33/1 - the 23-year-old’s biggest title of his career to date…
Followed that month by 19-year-old Jakub Mensik lifting his very first senior trophy - winning the Miami Open as a huge 250/1 outsider…
And in April, Lorenzo Musetti also reached his first Masters final - with the 23-year-old a 50/1 runner-up in Monte-Carlo…

Men’s world no.1 Jannik Sinner won the Australian Open in January. Sinner has won three of the last five tennis Majors. What price for Jannik to complete the clean-sweep and win the ‘calendar Grand Slam’ in 2025? Bet365 make him just 16/1 to win all four Majors this year…
In comparison, in the golf specials markets, recent Augusta Masters champion Rory McIlroy catches the eye at huge odds to scoop the Grand Slam in 2025…
While the likes of Bet365 have Rory at 33/1 (beware Oddschecker by the way, they’re not displaying all the firms with this market)...
That McIlroy special is 80/1 with Coral…
And 100/1 as a boosted price with Paddy Power:
Can you turn a tenner into £2,730?
Technically, you could beat that 100/1 price by ‘rolling up’ McIlroy to win each of this year’s remaining three Majors, one by one.
For example, based on the current best ante-post prices (Skybet):
£10 McIlroy to win the PGA Championship this month @ 5/1 = £60 return
Then…
Placing that £60 on McIlroy to win the US Open in June @ 6/1 = £420 return
Then…
All £420 on McIlroy to win The Open in July @ 11/2 = £2,730 return
That example makes it 272/1 for Rory to win a historic calendar ‘Slam…
But then again, with last month’s Masters already in the bag, if Rory wins the next one, who knows how short a price he’ll go off at for the next two this summer...
