The week ahead on grass - and something new...

The 2025 grass season continues to throw up big-odds results in the tournament markets…
Earlier this month, we saw the likes of Tatjana Maria win the WTA Queen’s event in London at 100/1… along with 40/1 Zizou Bergs getting to the final at the men’s Libema Open in the Netherlands.
Last week, the chunky Outright Winner prices continued to show up…
Including qualifier Xinyu Wang finishing runner-up at WTA Berlin, having gone off as a rank 150/1 outsider…
That Berlin trophy was won by 25/1 shot Marketa Vondrousova; the 2023 Wimbledon champion having been mentioned in last week’s Notes from the Tour article. As anticipated in that piece, Vondrousova’s 50/1 Wimbledon 2025 quote has now been chopped to just 12/1.
Elsewhere on the grass last week, McCartney Kessler won WTA Nottingham at 28/1…
Ones to Watch in 2025 ‘Czech-list’ nomination Jiri Lehecka was a 25/1 runner-up at ATP Queen’s…
And one of the big servers we discussed on 12th June (Aces on the Grass), Alexander Bublik, won ATP Halle at odds of 28/1.
Plenty of tasty odds to whet the appetite for Wimbledon there…
And considering the women’s title has been won by a 100/1+ shot, three years running - Elena Rybakina, Marketa Vondrousova, Barbora Krejcikova. And all three of those ladies had never won a WTA title on grass before, let alone got to a Wimbledon final…
We should surely go after the underdogs and outsiders again at SW19 next week. And that’s certainly what we’ll be doing…
