High five - and a semi final today...

High five…

Good morning. After coming so close to landing a big one on Wednesday, we hit the Match Winner five-fold acca on Thursday…

We targeted the Wimbledon Women’s Qualifiers yesterday, and our five selections got the job done at 10/1.

It wasn’t plain sailing, with three of our ladies requiring the full three sets to get the win. But they all count the same in the end:

Mirjam Bjorkland beat Maria Lourdes Carle, 7-6, 6-7, 6-1

Maddison Inglis beat Natalija Stevanovic, 7-6, 2-6, 6-2

Yanina Wickmayer beat Su Jeong Jang, 6-1, 6-4

Nastasja Mariana Schunk beat Danielle Lao, 6-1, 6-3

Jana Fett beat Katarina Zavatska, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3

40/1 Cressy in the semi finals…

It was looking like being a great day all round yesterday, with 25/1 tournament pick Tommy Paul up 4-1 in the final set v Alex De Minaur in the ATP Eastbourne quarter finals. The Australian fought back to knock our man out.

But in the other side of the Eastbourne draw we have our other Outright Winner pick, Maxime Cressy, through to semi finals today…

Backed at 40/1 and 33/1 Each Way on day one, Cressy is yet to drop a set. He’s now trading at 7/2 (4.5) in general to go all the way.

The 25-year-old American has taken out the Brits in the last two rounds, beating Dan Evans, and then Cameron Norrie. Cressy will be looking to complete the hat-trick this afternoon, and take out Jack Draper. The 20-year-old Brit will be competing in his debut ATP semi final.

• In the Match Winner betting, the bookies make our man Cressy the 8/11 (1.73) favourite to beat Draper. If you’re on Cressy Each Way from earlier this week, then you’re in a favourable position. With 1/2 odds for reaching the final, that gives you a very healthy payout in store if Cressy wins the semi today. For example, from 40/1, the place part is worth 20/1

• If you wish to protect/ recoup your original stakes on Cressy, then the simple move today is to have a ‘saver bet’ on Draper to beat him. The British player is 11/10 (2.1)

Cressy v Draper is scheduled for 2pm, live on Amazon Prime Video.
