In terms of the prices, our early-bird Wimbledon book is looking nice and summery…

With these three ladies already backed for next week’s trip to the luscious lawns of the All England Club:

• Karolina Muchova – article 12th February – 50/1, now 33/1

• Diana Shnaider – article 2nd June >> – 175/1 – 100/1, now as short at 33/1, but still 100/1 as I write with Skybet, Paddy Power & Betfair Sportsbook (Each Way: 1/2 odds 1-2 places)

• Iva Jovic – article 11th June >> – 66/1 – 40/1, now 28/1 or 25/1 in general 

That’s a good opening salvo for the 128-player women’s field.

And we haven’t even started on the men yet…

That’s because I want to wait on the draw for the gentlemen’s event. We’ll know the line-ups on Friday. And with that document in hand, we’ll be primarily looking for outsiders with credentials to come through on the opposite side of the draw to world no.1 and odds-on, 4/7 (1.57) Wimbledon favourite, Jannik Sinner.

With world no.2 and multiple former SW19 champion Carlos Alcaraz out injured, the underdog opportunity is there. Just as it proved at the recent French Open, where several 100/1+ players made it through to the quarter finals and beyond – including one in the final.
